Mercedes hybrid and electric cars

Under the 'EQ' sub-brand, Mercedes is rolling out a wide range of zero-emissions electric models, while also bringing hybrid power to its familiar established models

Mercedes electric cars

Karl Benz developed one of the very first motor cars, and these days the company that bears his name hopes to play an equally pioneering role in the transition to electric power. It has already launched a wide range of pure-electric models under the 'EQ' sub-brand, in addition to making plug-in hybrid engines available across nearly its entire range. Click the links below to jump straight to our reviews and news stories on each one, or scroll down to browse the entire range.

Mercedes EQA

Mercedes EQA

The electric version of the popular Mercedes GLA family SUV comes in both entry-level EQA 250 and range-topping 4MATIC four-wheel-drive forms, offering a driving range of around 250 miles and a beautifully designed luxury interior. Read our full review here.

Mercedes EQB

Mercedes EQB

One of the few fully electric seven-seater cars you can buy right now, the EQB mixes chunky SUV looks reminiscent of the classic Mercedes G-Class 4x4 on the outside, with the same sumptuous interior and cutting-edge tech as the EQA inside. Read our full review here.

Mercedes EQC

Mercedes EQC

The first electric Mercedes with an 'EQ' badge, the EQC is a large premium SUV that shares a platform with the petrol and diesel-powered GLC. It's no longer the most cutting-edge electric car you can buy, but it does look great inside and out. Read our full review here.

Mercedes EQE

Mercedes EQE

Mercedes' E-Class has been a standard-setting executive saloon for many years; the EQE is intended to be its electric equivalent. To all intents and purposes a slightly smaller version of the EQS (below), it features a showstopping interior design and big battery capacities for easy long-distance journeys. Read our full review here.

Mercedes EQS

Mercedes EQS

One of the longest-range (and most expensive) electric cars you can buy, the EQS is pitched as a no-compromise electric luxury limousine for those who demand the absolute best from their car – and can afford it. Read our full review here.

Mercedes EQT

Mercedes EQT

The first of two more practical-minded electric cars from Mercedes, the EQT is the passenger version of the eCitan van. It promises plenty of space for a family, their luggage and some 'lifestyle' accessories, along with ultra-low running costs. Read our full review here.

Mercedes EQV

Mercedes EQV

Mercedes' V-Class luxury minibus is a stalwart of the VIP transport and private-hire industries, and now there's a fully electric equivalent, called the EQV. It offers plush surroundings for up to seven occupants as well as a driving range of just over 200 miles on a charge. Read our full review here.

Mercedes A-Class hybrid

Mercedes A 250 e

Small hatchbacks like the Mercedes A-Class are an increasingly popular company-car choice, hence the appearance of this plug-in hybrid version of the German brand's best-selling model. With an electric range of more than 40 miles, as well as one of the best interiors in the business, it's a very tempting choice. Read our full review here.

Mercedes B-Class hybrid

Mercedes B 250 e

The Mercedes B-Class has always offered an appealing blend of family-friendly practicality and premium cachet, and the introduction of this plug-in hybrid variant, with the same drivetrain as the A-Class above, adds another string to its bow. Read our full review here.

Mercedes C 300 e

Mercedes C 300 e/de

An all-new Mercedes C-Class arrives for the 2022 model year, with petrol-electric and diesel-electric plug-in hybrids once again part of the line-up. It feels more like a mini S-Class than ever and boasts a highly impressive electric range of more than 60 miles. Read our full review here.

Mercedes CLA Shooting Brake

Mercedes CLA 250 e

As the Mercedes CLA shares most of its underpinnings with the more conventionally shaped A-Class, it's no surprise to see it available with the same plug-in hybrid drivetrain as that car. Both Coupe and Shooting Brake (pictured) bodystyles are available, along with all the same interior technology as the A-Class. Read our full review here.

Mercedes E-Class hybrid

Mercedes E 300 e/de

Mercedes is one of the few brands to offer both diesel and petrol-based plug-in hybrids, and the former makes a lot of sense in a car like the E-Class, especially if you expect to be doing regular long-distance runs. Elsewhere, it's just as well equipped, comfortable and refined as any E-Class, lacking only a bit of handling finesse compared to its BMW 5 Series rival. Read our full review here.

Mercedes GLA 250 e plug-in hybrid

Mercedes GLA 250 e

In common with many premium brands, Mercedes has electrified almost its entire SUV line-up, starting with the compact GLA. It gets the same 250 e petrol-electric engine as the A-Class hybrid, for a decent electric range and an attractively low company-car tax rating. Read our full review here.

Mercedes GLC hybrid

Mercedes GLC 300 e/de

Mercedes' mid-size family SUV shares much under the metal with the C-Class saloon, and also offers both petrol and diesel plug-in hybrids. The more miles you do, the more likely it is that the diesel will be the better choice, while the petrol is ideal for those doing shorter local journeys. Read our full review here.

Mercedes GLE hybrid

Mercedes GLE 350 de

The top of the Mercedes hybrid SUV tree, the GLE plug-in is diesel-electric only. That translates to an incredible official economy figure of over 400mpg, and even if it's unlikely you'll match that in the real world, this is still one of the cheapest-to-run large SUVs you can get. Read our full review here.

Mercedes S-Class plug-in hybrid

Mercedes S 560 e

Mercedes has offered hybrid technology in its flagship S-Class saloon for three generations now; the latest S 560 e boasts a 62-mile electric range and a typically sumptuous interior bursting with cutting-edge technology. Read our full review here.
