SEAT Mii electric (2020-2021) practicality & boot space

Practicality doesn't take much of a dent following the Mii's switch to electric power, but it's still a small car

It's not the largest car around, but thanks to some clever packaging there's enough space in the Mii electric for four adults and a few bags of shopping in the boot. That's mostly what a car like this is expected to handle, so it's welcome to find it performs this role well. Designed from the ground up as a city car, the Mii still gets all of the benefits of its wheel-at-each-corner stance, large glasshouse and general feeling of weildiness.

There's no three-door option, so access is easier even than in some larger rivals like the MINI Electric, and once you're in the rear seats there's actually a decent amount of space for knees, elbows and heads.

SEAT Mii electric interior space, storage & comfort

Despite the Mii's size, there's enough space for four people, with those in the front likely to be most comfortable on longer journeys. SEAT has found space for a few useful cubbies throughout the cabin, most notably a deep one ahead of the gearlever and some good-sized door bins. There's a distinct lack of cupholders, however – some may consider this criminal in a car designed for city slickers on the go.

Boot space

The boot measures a paltry 251 litres, so those wishing to transport larger items will need to drop the rear seats, which increases capacity to 923 litres. One of the three boxes available to tick on the Mii's options list is an Easy Flex pack, which adds a little extra versatility, including a split boot floor for storing cables. It's important to note that despite the addition of a battery, the Mii's load area is barely affected by its switch to electric power.
