Suzuki Swace hybrid boot space & seating

The Swace is spacious, practical and comfortable overall – but some internal-combustion-engined rivals have even more room

Unlike the Toyota Corolla – which is available as a hatchback, saloon or estate – the Swace is limited to just one bodystyle. The good news is that it's the most practical of all of these, with plenty of space for passengers and luggage. The Swace is a very practical choice as a result, more so than some of its SUV alternatives if you regularly need to carry both passengers and larger items in the boot.

Suzuki Swace hybrid interior space, storage & comfort

The Corolla Touring Sports on which the Swace is based has a longer wheelbase than its five-door hatchback or four-door saloon siblings. This means the Swace has plenty of legroom for rear-seat passengers and will be very competitive in this regard versus any hatchback-only rivals. Rear-seat occupants get their own air vents, which is a nice touch, while things are just as comfortable for those in the front. Much like the Corolla, the driving position is good and the seats comfortable and supportive.

Boot space

The Corolla Touring Sports has a quoted boot space of 598 litres, while the Swace has a near-identical figure of 596 litres. It's not quite clear how this difference arises, but what is clear is there's plenty of space. It falls short of a Skoda Octavia estate, for example, but should still prove practical. The rear seats fold flat enough to slide items all the way to the end of the increased load space; total volume in this configuration is 1,232 litres.
