Suzuki Swace hybrid interior, dashboard & comfort

The Swace is identical inside to the Toyota Corolla Touring Sports, albeit with a bit less kit

As you should now expect, the Swace's interior is more or less identical to that of the Toyota Corolla, albeit with some different badging. This is good for the things that matter – build quality, material quality, ergonomics and comfort – but less so for any sense of individuality. Still, there's not much to complain about in objective terms.

Suzuki Swace hybrid dashboard

Carried over directly from the Corolla, the Swace's dashboard uses the same decent materials and features an identical layout, with the centrally mounted touchscreen infotainment system taking centre stage. Ventilation and heating controls sit beneath it, with a centre console below that houses the gearlever and some cupholders.

The dashboard feels low and, together with the large front quarterlights and windows, helps make the car feel airy and comfortable. The seats are exactly as you'll find in a Toyota and offer a plenty of adjustment to find a good driving position.

Equipment, options & accessories

There are two trim levels for the Swace: SZ-T and SZ5. The former gets LED headlights, heated front seats, a heated steering wheel and a reversing camera among its standard equipment. Step up to SZ5 and more safety features are added, along with all-round parking sensors, wireless phone charging and improved LED headlights.

Those looking for more standard kit for a little more money should consider the Corolla equivalent, however – the top-spec Swace SZ5 doesn't get the leather trim and 16-inch alloys of the equivalent Corolla Excel, for example.

Infotainment, apps & sat nav

Both trims use an eight-inch 'Touch 2' infotainment system from Toyota that features Apple CarPlay and Android Auto as standard. The system works well enough, but we still prefer the clarity of a Kia or Hyundai infotainment screen.
