EV Deal of the Day: classy Volvo EX30 for £265 per month

The Volvo EX30 small SUV is a terrific all-rounder, and even more appealing at this competitive price

  • High-quality interior
  • Good to drive
  • Decent performance

The stylish Volvo EX30 offers plenty of Swedish cool, with a minimalist interior and lots of premium features. The five-door small electric SUV is good to drive too, while providing a surprising level of performance. When you consider its near-300-mile all-electric range (in this Extended Range form) and the fact that the EX30 comes with the usual array of safety systems Volvo is so well known for, then it seems very good value for money.

This two-year PCH (Personal Contract Hire) deal is from Carparison Leasing through Carwow, and requires an initial payment of £3,473.76, followed by monthly payments of just £264.58, while there is a 5,000-mile annual limit.

Offered in mid-range Plus specification, the EX30 offered in this particular deal comes with a generous level of standard equipment, including 18-inch alloys, a gloss black contrast roof, front and rear parking sensors, a powered tailgate, adaptive cruise control, a heating function for the front seats and steering wheel, wireless smartphone charging, an upgraded Harman Kardon audio system and a 12.3-inch infotainment display.

The EX30 is a small SUV, so you shouldn’t expect limo-like interior space. It’s perfectly comfortable up front and we found overall headroom to be fairly generous, but a high floor limits foot space under the front seats for rear passengers. The 318-litre boot is acceptable, while there’s an extra 19 litres of storage under the bonnet that is perfect for storing charging cables.

You get the best of both worlds with the 268bhp Extended Range model; Volvo claims up to 295 miles of range across a mixture of roads, although if most of your motoring is in town or across more urban routes, then the manufacturer says you could achieve up to 367 miles from a full charge. Performance is impressive too, with 0-62mph taken care of in just 5.3 seconds - that’s serious hot hatch territory.
