Honda HR-V hybrid MPG & CO2 emissions
The hybrid-only HR-V is capable of returning competitive fuel economy figures that surpass even Honda’s claims with ease
Fuel economy | CO2 emissions |
---|---|
52mpg | 122g/km |
The full-hybrid e:HEV powertrain in the HR-V is the same setup you’ll find in the Jazz supermini, larger CR-V SUV and latest Civic hatchback. Of course, that means the HR-V will never be as efficient or emit as little CO2 as a plug-in hybrid, but the latest iteration of Honda’s compact SUV has proven it can return fuel economy figures that are on par with rivals like the Nissan Juke Hybrid, Toyota Yaris Cross and Toyota CH-R.
Honda HR-V hybrid MPG & CO2 emissions
According to Honda, the front-wheel-drive HR-V can return up to 52mpg, with owners able to cover up to 460 miles on a full tank of fuel. When we test drove the car, it easily cracked 60mpg after going through a mixture of driving scenarios, although if you spend most of your time around town, we expect that figure could increase even higher, as the electric motors will have more opportunities to kick in.
In terms of CO2 emissions, the HR-V produces 122g/km – slightly more than both the Hyundai Kona and Renault Captur hybrids, as well as the Jazz supermini that uses the same powertrain. However, both the fuel economy and emissions figures for this model are a marked improvement over the previous generation HR-V.
