The Peugeot E-2008 is a compact SUV that offers plenty of style, and it’s all the more attractive at this low price

  • Good quality interior
  • Low running costs
  • Good boot space

The Peugeot E-2008 is an all-electric compact SUV that offers sharp styling, along with good build quality and a decent slug of practicality. There’s also useful onboard technology that helps to make any journey go more smoothly, plus the obvious benefit of emissions-free motoring which should contribute to lower overall running costs – an increasingly important factor for many family-car buyers.

The E-2008 is quite expensive to buy, but this particular deal solves that issue. A two-year PCH (Personal Contract Hire) offer from Select Car Leasing, through Carwow, requires an initial payment of £2,487.00, followed by monthly instalments of just £182.75. There’s a 5,000-mile annual limit, so you’ll need to make sure that’s enough for all your daily driving.

This Allure model comes with 17-inch alloys, automatic LED lights, rear privacy glass, front and rear parking sensors, and Peugeot’s i-Cockpit setup with a 10-inch infotainment touchscreen that includes wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. There’s a generous level of standard safety kit, too, with systems such as lane-keeping assist, speed-limit recognition and a driver-attention warning.

With a 50kWh battery and single electric motor driving the front wheels, this E-2008 model produces 134bhp and manages the 0-62mph sprint in a respectable 9.8 seconds. Peugeot claims you should get up to 232 miles from a single charge, although it’ll probably be close to the 200-mile mark in real-world driving – especially during the colder winter months.

The E-2008’s cabin feels solidly built, while there’s a large practical boot and decent room up front. Those travelling in the rear will be more cramped, and the small doors can also make getting into the back a little awkward, so we wouldn’t recommend the E-2008 if you’re constantly needing to transport younger children in child seats. Other than that, it’s a compact EV package that’s certainly worth considering at this low price.
