Porsche Macan: interior, dashboard & infotainment

The Macan’s top-notch tech is accompanied by an overall sense of quality

Just like in the Taycan, the Porsche Macan’s interior is one of its biggest highlights. There are plenty of soft materials (provided you don’t go rooting around in the lower, more out-of-reach areas), everything feels sturdily put together and the amount of adjustment in the steering wheel and seats will allow you to feel comfortably enveloped and supported.

Traditionalists will also be pleased to hear that there is still some physical switchgear for functions like the temperature setting and fan speed. The majority of functions are still controlled via touchscreens, but these are clear, responsive and easy to read.

It’ll come as no surprise to any current Porsche owners that there are plenty of options to choose from if you really want the best from your Macan’s interior. While customisation is always nice, the additional costs can quickly spiral into the tens of thousands, so tread carefully if you venture into the configurator.

Porsche Macan dashboard

The Macan’s dashboard consists of two screens: a 12.6-inch curved instrument cluster and a 10.9-inch central touchscreen display. If you have a front passenger that’s easily bored, you’ll be pleased to know that another 10.9-inch touchscreen can also be fitted on the passenger side at an additional cost, if you so wish.

Whether you have two screens or three, these are all logically laid out and easy to fathom. The operating system was responsive to our inputs during testing, and the graphics are clear and bright, too. If you don’t like looking down while driving, an optional augmented-reality head-up display is available, but this will set you back by well over £1,500 and the cash is probably better spent elsewhere..

Equipment, options & accessories

While the options list is typically enormous and expensive, the Macan’s standard kit is still pretty generous (which you’d probably expect from a car that starts from around £70,000).

As standard, every Macan gets 20-inch alloy wheels, dual-zone climate control, adjustable and heated seats, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity and LED lighting.
