Honda Jazz hybrid running costs

The hybrid Honda Jazz promises to be an inexpensive car to run in all respects

Honda has gone to great lengths to make sure the Jazz is as efficient as possible; everyday costs should be low as a result. That low-cost trend continues across other aspects of Jazz ownership, too, meaning it should retain its crown as one of the most sensible choices in the supermini class.

Honda Jazz hybrid insurance group

Insurance information for the latest Jazz isn’t available at time of writing, but if the previous model is anything to go by, there’s not much to worry about in this area. The old car sat in groups 13 and 19 depending on engine; we’d expect the new version to sit somewhere between these two.

Honda has a fairly complex warranty system that covers various parts of the car for different periods of time. The hybrid drivetrain is covered by a five-year or 90,000-mile warranty, while chassis corrosion is guaranteed against for 10 years and structural corrosion for 12. There’s also exhaust system corrosion coverage for five years and surface corrosion coverage for three years.

Honda was praised in the 2020 Driver Power owner-satisfaction survey for its particularly cheap servicing. Honda offers a fixed-price deal for £895, which covers all the car’s servicing for five years and includes parts, labour and VAT.

Road tax

First-year road tax – rolled into the on-the-road price – is £145 for all Jazz models. You're then liable for the standard £140 yearly payment for 'alternative fuel vehicles' thereafter – a £10 discount on the regular £150 rate.
