Honda Jazz hybrid costs, insurance, warranty & tax
The hybrid Honda Jazz promises to be an inexpensive car to run in all respects
Insurance group | Warranty | Service interval | 2021/22 company-car tax cost (20%/40%) |
---|---|---|---|
19-20 | 5yrs / 90,000 miles | 1yr / 12,500 miles | From £904 / £1,809 |
Honda has gone to great lengths to make sure the Jazz is as efficient as possible; everyday costs should be low as a result. That low-cost trend continues across other aspects of Jazz ownership, too, meaning it should retain its crown as one of the most sensible choices in the supermini class.
Honda Jazz hybrid insurance group
The old Honda Jazz sat in groups 13 and 19 depending on engine, but this latest version is rated in groups 19 and 20, so coverage could be slightly more expensive. That's also a slightly higher group rating than applies to the Jazz's close rival, the Renault Clio E-TECH hybrid.
Warranty
Honda has a fairly complex warranty system that covers various parts of the car for different periods of time. The hybrid drivetrain is covered by a five-year or 90,000-mile warranty, while chassis corrosion is guaranteed against for 10 years and structural corrosion for 12. There’s also exhaust system corrosion coverage for five years and surface corrosion coverage for three years.
Servicing
Honda was praised in the 2020 Driver Power owner-satisfaction survey for its particularly cheap servicing. Honda offers a fixed-price deal for £895, which covers all the car’s servicing for five years and includes parts, labour and VAT.
Road tax
For the first year years are purchasing your Honda Jazz hybrid, you'll pay £145 in road tax (VED). As it's classed as an 'alternative-fuel vehicle' you receive a £10 discount on the regular £155 rate.
