Honda e:Ny1 prices slashed by £5,000

Honda has announced a major shift in its pricing and retail approach for the e:Ny1 electric SUV.

Honda has announced a cut in the price of its e:Ny1 electric SUV by £5,000. The Honda e:Ny1 will open at £39,995 in the UK, down from the previous starting price of £44,995. In addition, the car will be available on a £299 per month PCP (personal contract purchase) finance deal with a reduced deposit of £5,000 thanks to a £3,000 deposit contribution from Honda.

On top of the more competitive pricing, Honda is also offering a comprehensive 5-year care package with the e:Ny1. This includes a 5-year service plan, a 5-year warranty, and 5 years roadside assistance. The improved terms, reduced prices and finance offer will be going live from the 23rd of April and should make Honda’s offering more competitive in the compact electric SUV market.

Rebecca Adamson, Head of Automobile at Honda UK, expressed optimism about the company's new proposition, stating, "April marks an exciting milestone for Honda as we unveil our new approach for the e:Ny1. We are incredibly excited for the future of electric mobility and are proud to offer customers an exceptional blend of convenience and affordability."

Honda is the latest in a series of manufacturers to reduce the price of new electric car products in recent months. Vauxhall, Volkswagen, Tesla and others have taken steps to lower their electric car prices in the face of growing competition from newcomers to the market and the increasing need to register electric cars in light of the UK’s ZEV Mandate. The Government’s ZEV Mandate legislation forces manufacturers to register an increasing proportion of pure electric cars as we head towards a ban on the sale of new petrol and diesel cars in 2035, or face financial penalties.
