Honda estimates the e will cost £299 per month with a £6,000 deposit or part-exchange from the customer on a three-year PCP contract, while the Advance will cost a further £50 per month. Those are very reasonable terms that put the Honda fairly close in terms of finance cost to larger rivals like the Peugeot e-208, Vauxhall Corsa-e and Renault ZOE.
A full charge from a domestic socket will cost around £5, or you could halve that cost if you stick to off-peak, overnight tariffs. Company-car users will find the Honda e remarkably cheap: Benefit-in-Kind tax is zero for the 2020/21 financial year and then goes up to a negligible £118 for 2021/22.

The Honda e falls into insurance group 25, or 29 for the Advance, which is a little high compared to rivals like the ZOE. Even the MINI Electric betters it fractionally, being rated in groups 22 and 23.
Honda offers a three-year/unlimited-mileage warranty on all of its new cars, which can be extended for an additional cost. The battery is warrantied for eight years/100,000 miles.
We haven’t yet got a confirmed servicing schedule for the Honda e, but it should certainly be no worse than the standard 12-month/12,000-mile schedule that applies to most Hondas. The car will also warn you when it requires a service, and the intervals may vary depending on the sort of driving you do.
The Honda e is currently not liable for VED (road tax) in the UK due to its zero-emissions status.
