New Citroen My Ami Cargo LCV: Pictures, specs and price
Citroen has unveiled a commercial version of its ultra-compact electric city car, though it’s not clear whether the My Ami Cargo will come to the UK
Citroen has unveiled a commercial version of the Ami, its two-seat electric car. Named the My Ami Cargo, this LCV version of the ultra-compact electric car has been designed for last-mile and food deliveries in urban areas.
The My Ami Cargo has a maximum load capacity of 400 litres and can carry a payload up to 140kg. 260 litres of which comes from the seven-part cargo module that replaces the passenger seat you get in a regular Ami. There is also a table for filling in and storing forms, and a secure storage compartment for a driver’s wallet or phone.
The My Cargo Ami uses the same 5.5kWh battery as the regular Ami, for a maximum range of 47 miles. The small battery also means you can fully charge the My Ami Cargo in just three hours from a conventional plug socket. The battery supplies power to the 8bhp electric motor to drive the front wheels.
The My Ami Cargo’s zero-emissions status makes it ideal for deliveries in cities like London, where it would be exempt from the Congestion Charge. Citroen hasn’t yet confirmed whether the Ami Cargo – or the regular Ami – will be sold in the UK.
The My Ami Cargo is also ideal for working in cities thanks to its tight 7.2-metre turning circle. Plus, the steel tubular structure of the My Ami Cargo makes it safer in a collision than motorbikes and other three-wheel options.
The My Ami Cargo will be available to order in France later this year, starting from €6,490 (£5,600), or will cost just €24.18 (£21) per month to lease from Citroen. For fleet orders of less than 10 My Ami Cargos, companies can have their logos added to the vehicles; larger orders from businesses can request bespoke modifications, like having their vehicles wrapped or painted in specific company colours.
