Vauxhall Grandland Hybrid interior, dashboard & comfort

Before the late 2021 facelift, the Grandland's interior lacked flair, but things have been improved considerably by the refresh

Inside is where the Grandland's late 2021 facelift registered the biggest improvement; the new dual-screen 'Pure Panel' layout served to effectively modernise what was a pretty dowdy cabin in the original. Elsewhere, the Vauxhall retains physical controls for the cabin temperature, making the system easier and more intuitive to operate while you’re on the move.

As before, the seats feel suitably supportive and there’s loads of adjustment in the driving position. You do sit quite high, but as this is an SUV – and one that offers little in the way of dynamism – that’s unlikely to matter. Every version gets dual-zone climate control, making it easy to adjust the temperature and keep it at a steady level.

As noted above, the Vauxhall 'Pure Panel' – which starts behind the steering wheel and runs across to the centre of the dashboard, incorporating a pair of screens in the process – has served to bring the Grandland's interior right up to date from a technology standpoint. Elsewhere, though, while the car still feels solidly built using plenty of high-grade materials, we still think there's a bit too much drab grey plastic on show.

Equipment, options & accessories

While the car disappoints in some areas, the Grandland Hybrid's generous kit list stands out. The entry-level SE sees Apple CarPlay and Android Auto included as standard, along with dual-zone climate control, smart cruise control, front and rear parking sensors, automatic headlights and windscreen wipers, plus a suite of driver safety aids. Range-topping Elite features keyless entry, a powered tailgate, wireless phone charging, Vauxhall’s more supportive Ergo Active front seats and LED matrix headlights.

Infotainment, apps & sat nav

Entry-level SE cars get a pair of seven-inch displays, while a 12-inch driver display and 10-inch central touchscreen feature on SRi trim and above. Every version comes with European mapping, voice control, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, as well as USB and Bluetooth. Downloading the MyVauxhall smartphone app will allow you to monitor charging remotely, as well as pre-heat or pre-cool the interior before a journey.
