Renault ZOE S Edition launched

Renault has launched a new S Edition trim level for its ZOE electric supermini. Available to order now and priced from £19,270 (after the plug-in car grant, but excluding battery rental), it replaces the Signature Nav specification at the top of the two-trim ZOE range.

A BOSE stereo and a reversing camera to aid manoeuvring are the headline standard equipment for the S Edition, which also gets a leather-and-textile seat covering (pictured below) and a choice of either 16-inch 'Black Shadow' or 17-inch 'Black Optemic' alloys – with no additional charge for picking the larger wheels.

The entry-level ZOE Dynamique Nav trim continues to be available, with its standard roster of a hands-free keycard, rear parking sensors, automatic wipers, automatic lights, climate control, a leather steering wheel, leather gearknob and electric windows all round, plus powered, heated and folding door mirrors.

A seven-inch touchscreen tablet incorporating voice-activated sat nav is also standard on both ZOE trim levels, which continue to be offered with a choice of the Q90 electric motor (which makes 88hp but supports quick charging) or the more powerful, but slower to charge, R110 version. Optimum range for both is 186 miles, dropping to around 124 miles in colder weather.

Renault also continues to offer ZOE buyers the option of either hiring their car's battery for a monthly fee (resulting in a lower initial purchase price), or buying it outright. Those who do the latter get a free 7kW home wallbox charger when they buy the car. A full breakdown of the various purchase options and prices is given below.

Deliveries of the ZOE S Edition to customers will begin in April.
