The Toyota C-HR should be both reliable and safe; Toyota has an excellent reputation for reliability and customer satisfaction that was reflected in the 2022 Driver Power car ownership survey. Also, the C-HR has more standard safety equipment than almost any rival.

Toyota C-HR reliability & problems

The Toyota C-HR should be dependable – it achieved a strong eighth-place finish in the 2022 Driver Power owner satisfaction survey, with strong ratings for reliability and build quality. Of those surveyed, a lower-than-average of owners reported having experienced a fault with their car. What's more, the C-HR gets a class-leading 10-year/100,000-mile warranty if anything does go wrong, as long as you keep the car serviced on time and at a Toyota dealer.

Safety

The C-HR received a maximum five-star Euro NCAP crash-test rating in 2017, including an impressive 95% for adult occupants. Other scores were consistently good, including 77% for child safety, 76% for pedestrian safety, and 78% for safety assistance technologies. All versions of the C-HR benefit from Toyota’s Safety Sense set-up, which includes adaptive cruise control, autonomous emergency braking and pedestrian detection. Also included are seven airbags and stability control. Excel and Dynamic models are also available with rear cross-traffic alert and blind-spot monitoring as optional extras.
