New 2022 MG 5 EV electric estate car to make UK debut at Goodwood
UK pricing and delivery dates for facelifted version of popular electric estate to be confirmed soon

The facelifted version of the MG 5 SW EV electric estate car will make its UK public debut at the Goodwood Festival of Speed event, starting on 23 June. The updated car – which DrivingElectric has already had a chance to drive in Germany – features refreshed styling and improved on-board technology.
There are no range or charging speed upgrades, however – beyond the improvements that were introduced for the existing car in late 2021. This saw the addition of a Long Range version to the line-up, with a 61.1kWh battery for a 249-mile range on a charge.
Exterior design changes for the 2022 model encompass new front and rear bumpers, redesigned LED headlights and tail-lights, plus new wheel designs.
Like the latest MG ZS electric SUV, the 5 SW will also come with Vehicle-To-Load (V2L) capability, which lets you power or charge devices like e-bikes, portable heaters or camping equipment using the car's battery.
There are interior design and technology upgrades, too, including a 10.25-inch infotainment screen with upgraded software and support for 'iSMART' connected car functionality through MG’s smartphone app.
An exact on-sale date and full pricing and trim-level details for the new 5 SW have yet to be issued by MG's UK arm, however this information is expected to follow soon after the car's Goodwood debut.
